Archie Adventure Series
Of all the TMNT comic artists I’ve seen so far, this one most closely resembles the first cartoon. This is understandable, since the early Archie series was based on the cartoon. As far as I can tell, it eventually branched off into more independent storylines, but I can’t make any certain claims, since my collection of the Archie comics is very limited. Nothing about the art in particular stands out to me as different, or unique. It seems very basic, and there are many areas where any comic book reader could make suggestions for a more interesting and creative layout and/or artwork. However, the art is simple and easy to read and follow, and fulfills all the requirements for getting the plot across. I can’t help but be curious if this artist ever pursued his own, unique style for drawing these characters eventually, or if he just stuck to what he was comfortable with.
